Nicola, the wine and the vineyard #34

Thirty-fourth page of my diary. I'll tell you about our April: between the meticulous care of the shoots in the vineyard and the warm welcome in the cellar. At the bottom of this page a new section: "What to drink". Every month, I tell you which bottle I would open myself!

IN THE VINEYARD: GREEN PRUNING AND CARE OF THE BUDS

The important green pruning operations have been completed: a crucial moment that defines the health and productivity of our vines. This process, also known as stripping or suckering, allows us to select the most promising buds, reducing excess production. It is a delicate balance, where each cut is weighted, thus ensuring optimal distribution of vegetative growth. Green pruning is at least as important as winter pruning because it represents the moment in which you decide what to carry forward both for this year's fruit and for the work of the following year.

This year's challenge was more difficult due to the heavy rainfall, which required even more targeted intervention to reduce the vegetative part and maintain the perfect balance between leaves and bunches. Thanks to our unique position, the hills of the Gussago amphitheater offer natural ventilation which, with our intervention, helps keep the grapes dry and healthy, minimizing the use of plant protection agents.

IN THE CELLAR: WELCOME AND SHARING

April marked the start of our spring welcomes. We hosted so many of you, many for the first time! Between traditional visits, the Nature Limiteds and the exclusive Rarity ones, the enthusiasm and curiosity of the participants filled our cellar with joy.

These meetings not only allow us to share our passion for wine, but are also an opportunity to convey our love for our land. It is rewarding to see the interest and appreciation for our work and sustainable practices. A special thanks to all those who participated, making these days memorable.

What to drink:

Right now, I would open.

🍾 BLANC DE BLANCS DISGORGING 23

Why? Here you are...
First sunny days, nature exploding. Floral aromas, young and sparkling disgorgement, certainly a dynamic and fun sip.
