Sixteenth page of my journal. I'll tell you about our August: we are in the harvest phase. You are my cellar. Thank you!

In the vineyard: Harvest
We are in the harvest phase which has been anticipated by two weeks due to the drought and high temperatures.
Compared to the average in the area, we still managed to postpone it by a week thanks to some emergency irrigation in July and the rains in early August which gave us a hand until the 17th. The terroir is always the key. Our calcareous soil and low yields have allowed us to maintain greater acidity over time which has allowed the fruit to ripen in a more linear manner. We have almost finished the harvest and only the Negus grapes remain to be harvested in September.
In the cellar: Less bottles, strong identity
The yield was decidedly lower, fewer grapes means fewer bottles.
Let's wait to evaluate this vintage conscientiously. Next year we will taste the wines in the tonneaux and only then can we actually make any non-premature evaluations.
It will certainly be a particular vintage, characterized by a strong identity.
"The difficulties are there and will always be more, but it is how we react individually and collectively to the difficulties that define the Vignerons and the men we are."
