Round number for the first page of this new year. Before setting off with good intentions, it is good to review the year that has just ended, as intense and surprising as a good bottle of wine.

January- February
In the vineyard: winter pruning fortunately completed before the unusual rise in temperatures at the end of January. In the cellar: we worked on the new disgorgements of R.D. Nature, we have dedicated ourselves to the new Crus to better welcome the new ME.GA. Drinkers, preparing everything for winery visits.
Project Drinkers ME.GA. : once again this year the places for Club registrations were sold out on the opening night, going from 500 to 750 registrations!
What can I say, start the adventure again!
March
Month of new disgorgements 2022 and reopening of our cellar doors. Saturday visits have started again, Gatta's Privé and the "Gussago 4x4" experiences (tour aboard the Campagnola through the vineyards). In the vineyard: vegetative awakening with opening of the first shoots earlier than last year.
Goal: 2022 harvest.
In the cellar: we have carried out one of the most delicate operations of the Classic Method, the tirage. In other words, the set of cellar operations to favor the second fermentation of the wine directly inside the bottle. Strictly with our unconventional procedure!
April - May
In the vineyard: we are in full swing. The buds, which will give life to the fruit, are more vibrant than ever. And so we come to the delicate phase of flowering. In the cellar: we have finally concluded the maceration.
Behind the scenes (but not too much): I participated in the JUICE IT UP podcast, I went to the mountain pastures with Ferdy and we concluded the last Gatta's Privé.
In order: episode 53 of the JUICE IT UP podcast, an Italian project that collects the stories and experiences of those who are innovating the Italian food and wine sector; in the pastures of Val d'Inferno with Ferdy from the Ferdy Wild project we lived a very intense experience in symbiosis with nature, feeding only on what we were able to gather around us.
June
In the vineyard: we have reached the phenological phase of bunch enlargement. Healthy and turgid bunches are in the final phase of formation and closure, to then move on to the maturation phase. In the cellar: beautiful evenings with the Vigna's Privé in the company of some ME.GA.Drinkers.
We shared the magic of tasting and creating a group of true enthusiasts.
July- August
In the vineyard: phenological phase of veraison, i.e. the moment in which the bunch begins to ripen and show its transition from hard to tender. And then the harvest, brought forward by two weeks due to the drought and high temperatures, which combined with the lack of rainfall made the 2022 vintage very complex. We have purchased 4 rainwater collection tanks with the aim of reusing as much as possible by lowering the impact of our production on the environment. In the cellar: yield was significantly lower, fewer grapes means fewer bottles. But certainly with a strong identity, directly from our barrels, the new tonneaux arrived from the French tonnerie "Cavin".
September
In the vineyard: the last harvests of a unique and surprising vintage, so much so that at the end of the season it gave us a pleasant surprise, sweet rains allowed a nice swerve to the ripening of the grapes for still wines. We are delighted and have harvested very healthy grapes.ME.GA. Friends event : party in the vineyard with friends! Many ME.GA. drinkers were guests, but above all Ferdy Wild and La Dispensa San Felice, our great friends who accompanied the tasting of our R.D. and some limited edition bottles.
October- November
In the vineyard: vegetative rest and soil digging, later than usual, always due to the high seasonal temperatures. In the cellar: evolution before the great event. We are waiting for the first results of this particular vintage, and we are preparing for the date of December 17th, an event dedicated to ME.GA. Drinkers, in which the Cru Campiani Est will be tasted.
End of the year
Cellar visits project: 2022 season SOLD OUT!And we can only thank all the enthusiasts who have decided to come and visit us in the cellar to get to know our reality made of love and dedication.
